MEDIMUN Fifteen students from Forms 5 and 6 attended the MEDIMUN conference, held at the European University, Nicosia (9th-11th February). Conference topics debated included, among others, the question of: contemporary international espionage, combating the pollution of space, global mass surveillance by governments and defining gender in the contemporary age. Several of the Foley’s students/delegates managed to pass their resolutions successfully, often after heated debating sessions! One of the resolutions was also chosen for the Plenary Session on the final day of the conference. It was based on the "Question of the Economics of Gender Discrimination" and submitted by Anastasia Popova. We would like to congratulate all our participants and hope that the issues they debated will be ones they will carry on fighting for in the years to come. Thanks, once again, to the English School Nicosia for organizing the eventRead more
