Pastoral care is at the heart of school life and plays an important role in supporting pupils’ wellbeing, personal development and academic success. Form Tutors are the first point of contact for pupils and parents, working closely with families to provide guidance and support. They are supported by Heads of Year, who oversee the academic progress, behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and overall wellbeing of pupils within their year groups. 

We firmly believe that a strong pastoral system helps create a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving environment in which every pupil can thrive.

The School also places strong emphasis on community and pupil engagement through its pastoral initiatives and House System. The Pastoral Coordinator and Shadow Head of Year for Key Stage 3 further strengthen pupil support, helping to promote a positive, inclusive and high-achieving environment.

Our thriving House System (Arion, Centaurs, Laelaps and Phoenix) encourages pupils to build relationships across year groups while participating in sporting events, academic challenges and wider school activities throughout the year. In addition, each year group organises a charity event, giving pupils the opportunity to work together to raise funds for the Foley’s School Charities Fund (Reg. No. ΛΕΥ/Α/48) while developing leadership skills and a strong sense of community. 

At Foley’s, we use ePraise to recognise and celebrate pupil achievement in real time. House points are at the heart of this system, helping to cement a culture of recognition where effort, attitude and contribution are valued both inside the classroom and beyond. Pupils and parents can log in at any time to track points, view awards, and follow house standings, ensuring that every achievement is seen, acknowledged, and celebrated.

Through ePraise, we continue to encourage positive engagement, motivation and a strong sense of community across the School.
