Prep

Prep (UK Year 6) serves as an important stepping-stone from Primary to Secondary School, designed to ensure a smooth and confident transition into the secondary system. Prep pupils have a Class Teacher, but all subjects are taught by Subject Specialists, allowing the pupils to experience a more structured timetable and a wider range of expertise.

As pupils move between classrooms for their different lessons, they naturally develop greater independence, organisation and self-reliance. They also complete formal Mid-Year and End-of-Year assessments, with frequent progress checks in the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Greek, further preparing them for the expectations of Secondary School. Provided that they make satisfactory progress, pupils will move automatically into Form 1 without the need for additional examinations.

A highlight of Prep is the three-night Geography Field Trip to Kritou Terra, where pupils explore this beautiful region of Cyprus while completing key elements of the Geography curriculum.

Throughout the Primary School, our aim is to help children grow in confidence, make strong academic progress, and above all, enjoy themselves at school.

Prep plays a key role in ensuring pupils are ready for the opportunities and challenges of the next stage of their educational journey.
