Prep is UK Year 6 and is an important stepping-stone from Primary to Secondary School. The aim is to make a smooth transition to the secondary system. The children have a Class Teacher, but all of their subjects are taught by Subject Specialists, with French being introduced as a compulsory foreign language. The children become more self-reliant as they have to move classrooms frequently for these specialist lessons and formal end-of-term assessments are undertaken in all subject areas. Provided that a child achieves satisfactory progress and results he/she will pass automatically to Form 1 without additional examinations. Our Prep children also enjoy a three-night Geography Field Trip to Kritou Terra where they cover important areas of the Geography curriculum whilst exploring this part of the island.
