Performing Arts

Drama and the Performing Arts play a vibrant role in school life at Foley’s. Pupils experience Drama both within the curriculum and through a wide range of afternoon extracurricular activities, developing confidence, creativity and communication skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Pupils across all age groups take part in regular performances, from class assemblies to whole-school productions. A highlight of the school calendar is the annual Secondary musical, combining acting, singing, dance and stagecraft. Recent productions at Foley’s include The Greatest Showman (2022), Grease (2023), Beauty and the Beast (2024) and The Lion King (2025).

Enrichment beyond the classroom is a key strength of the department. When available, pupils attend local productions, while GCSE and A Level Drama pupils also take part in an annual Drama trip to London, enabling them to experience high-quality live performance and deepen their understanding of theatre in practice.

We are fortunate to have excellent performance facilities, including an outdoor amphitheatre and a versatile auditorium used for lessons, rehearsals and performances. A large indoor theatre is also currently under construction, further enhancing opportunities for our young performers.

Drama at Foley’s nurtures imagination, teamwork and a lifelong love of the arts, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to shine.
