Sport has always played an important role at Foley’s, and the School benefits from outstanding sports facilities that support both curriculum lessons and extracurricular activities.
Multipurpose Pitch
There is a top of the range astroturf multi purpose pitch used for football, tag rugby, softball, field hockey and cricket. The school regularly competes locally and nationally and has competed internationally in football and cricket (attending tournaments in Spain, Belgium, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Dubai).
Athletic Track
The 300m all weather tartan running track and surrounding facilities offer opportunities for a wide range of track and field athletic events. Our annual Sports Days allow our pupils to show off their athletic prowess in front of up to a 1000 spectators.
Sports Hall
The large, spacious Sports Hall, with its sprung wooden floor, is used for a wide variety of indoor sports including basketball, unihockey, futsal, volleyball, netball, table tennis, handball, tennis and fitness activities. The hall is equipped with a digital scoreboard, which is used during matches and competitions to enhance the experience for both players and spectators.
Indoor Gym
The Indoor Gym is used for modified games and fitness activities. Its sprung wooden flooring makes it particularly suitable for gymnastics and dance. With high-level coaching in gymnastics, the School has developed a strong programme, including an Intermediate Artistic Girls’ Gymnastics Squad, which performs at various school events.
Swimming Pool
The 25m swimming pool, built to international short-course specifications, is used to teach swimming, train members of the School’s Swimming Squad, host swimming galas and stage water polo matches.
